COALITION STRUCTURE

Getting involved with the Concord Substance Abuse Coalition is much easier than you might imagine. We encourage all levels of involvement and volunteerism. Our structure is comprised of an Executive Committee and various subcommittees developed as needed (Advocacy, Media/Marketing, Membership, Projects/Youth, and Tobacco). Whether you serve on a committee or volunteer on projects, we appreciate you and your contribution. Below, you’ll find descriptions of the various subcommittees that we offer.

Executive Committee
Provides leadership, oversees the Coalition’s goals, establishes policies, and leads the strategic planning process.

Advocacy Subcommittee
Informs and mobilizes Coalition members regarding policy and legislation, both local and statewide, that effects the Coalition and its member organizations. It also provides strategies to address, advocate for, and support policies which assist in fulfilling the mission of the Coalition.

Media/Marketing Subcommittee
Develops and designs collateral materials for upcoming projects, events, and programs. Works closely with the other subcommittees and Coalition staff, since much of the success of any project, program, and event is dependent on advertising and publicity.

Membership Subcommittee
Recruits new Coalition members from all areas of the community and recommends guidelines for membership.

Projects/Youth Subcommittee
Initiates and develops projects, enlists youth participation, and collaborates on projects around the city with various groups, organizations, and schools.

Tobacco Subcommittee
Coordinates Coalition efforts to prevent and reduce underage use of tobacco in the greater Concord area.
